Apprenticeship Facts

PAY | Apprentices must be paid a minimum of £3.40 per hour in the first year of their apprenticeship. The Work People can advertise vacancies for you and sift candidates so you only interview committed individuals.

AGE | There is no upper age limit on apprentices. If you know someone that you think would make a good apprentice, The Work People can help you find out if they are eligible for funded training or not.

EXISTING STAFF | Apprenticeships can be a cost effective way to train existing staff. The Work People can advise on placing existing members of staff on to an apprenticeship programme that improves productivity.

TAX | From April 2017, businesses with a high payroll bill must pay in to an Apprenticeship Levy. The Work People can help you work out if the levy affects your business or how much your organisation will pay.

JOB ROLES | Apprenticeships cover almost all job roles, even ones you might not associate with an apprentice, such as: Barristers, Engineers, Digital Marketers, Tailors, Warehouse Operatives and more.
